RCCA Family Picnic.
The picnic is held in June at Lake Zorinski, Omaha, Ne. It is an afternoon of food, fun, and great conversation. Bring your whole family.
RCCA Cake Show.
The cake show is held in September in conjunction with the Douglas County Fair and the River City Round-up at the Qwest Center in Omaha, Ne. The show has beginner to professional divisions with youth and Adult divisions. You may win trophies, ribbons and prizes for participating. You will also be able to check out beautiful displays of sugar art. A great variety of demos and decorating classes are offered the weekend of the show. Great way to show off your decorating skills and get feedback from judges that are experts in the sugar field.
Durham Western Heritage Tree Lighting Party.
This event is held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The club provides manpower to a decorate a cookie booth for museum members.
Holiday Party and Cookie Exchange.
This event is held in early December. It is just what you need to put you in the holiday mood for the season to come. It is a members only event. It is an afternoon of great food, fun and yummy cookies to take home to share with your family and friends. It also gives you a chance to show off your baking ability.
Fundraisers
The club does two fundraisers per year to help pay for the cake show. They are Kids Explorer and Treat Street held at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, IA. The clubs has a booth that sells sugar cookies to be decorated by the customers.
